Jamie Foxx says Kerry Washington made him cry | Django Unchained

Jamie Foxx, one of the most honest actors I have met, sits down along with the beautiful gorgeous Kerry Washington to talk about their new film, which has been called controversial, Django Unchained.

Foxx responded to the script’s honest portrayal of the brutality of slavery. “It was the most incredible script I’ve read in all of my life,” Foxx says. “I thought, ‘Who has the guts, and the knowledge to tell it like it really is?’ I thought that the way he’s telling the story — as true and…

  1. Quit with the victim complex. Native Americans owned slaves whites did blacks DO.

humans are savages in large enough groups. The one historical difference between whites and everyone else is they had better tech and military

    "Jango unchained," a taboo subject.
Its easier 2 point out other's evils & avoid looking in the mirror & seeing your own evils.
In everyday life. We can complain, ridicule & talk up a storm about "can you believe that" or "i would never" but you have. If you look at every atrocity throughout history, slavery in America is right up there as 1 of the worst forms of terrorism. For it had no other reasoning behind it other than the color of skin.
We want to show the world we are the best there is. We go into other people's countries under the "we are here to help" so when a movie or any mention of slavery & what we still go through because of the color of skin, is brought up, it taints that image of greatness.if you were to take pictures & stories of the different terrorists acts throughout hystory, even up till recently, you won't see much differences between them. Beheadings, hangings, rapes, burned alive, hogtied & whipped, babies murdered, children stolen away from their families while the family watches helplessly. Women raped in front of their husbands. Children watching their parents beat, castrated, hung, burned. And not so ling ago, a man dragged behind a truck till beheaded. An unarmed man shot 41times & the killers go free. I could go on, but i think my point is clear.

So as an "African" "American" "Muslim" "woman" with 4 strikes against them & have seen hatred on more than 1 level, i will end with this:

    1) "And when it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "We are only peacemakers." Verily! They are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not."

    2) "And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens & the earth, & the difference of your languages & colours. Verily, in that are indeed signs for men of sound knowledge."
"O mankind! We (The God) have created you from a male & a female, & made you into nations & tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with The God is that (one) who has At-Taqwa (piety). Verily, The God Is All Knowing, All Aware."
"And of men & AdDawab (living creatures), & cattle, in like manner of various colours. "
"He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He Pleases. No god but He, The All Mighty, The All Wise."

    3) The God's Messenger said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O The God's Messenger! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet said, "By preventing him from oppressing others."
Narrated Anas: Bukhari 2444 Book 46, Hadith 5

    Muhammad's last sermon:

    Prophet Muhammad's Last Sermon

This Sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I don't know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

    O People,
Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners.
Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you.
Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds.

    Beware of Satan,

    O People,
rights with regard to your women,
but they also have right over you.
to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and comitted helpers.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadhan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to. You know that every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. You are all equal. Nobody has superiority over other except by piety and good action.

Remember, one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not astray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Qur'an and my example, the Sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness oh Allah that I have conveyed your message to your people."

    (This is what Islam teaches)

there are many, from every faith, ethnicity, country, household who use & twist The God's Words & religion (way of living ones life), to suit their own agendas. Wrong is wrong.

"Verily! The God commands that you should render back the trusts to those, to whom they are due; & that when you judge between men, you judge with justice. Verily, how excellent is the teaching which He (The God) gives you! Truly, The God is Ever All Hearer, All Seer."

"O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to The God, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, & if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, The God is Ever Well Acquainted with what you do."

my apologies for the length of this comment.

  6. when its all said and done we as a whole people we are not going to forget how your people killed and split up our people then tryed to make us same of ourselfs its not going to happen hell to the no way.

  7. Being Proud & Inspired By Your own race isn't a crime or should it be demonized. I think it becomes a problem we all have when we Finding pride in the wrong things is… what's dangerous that what they take pride in. I Dont begrudge any white/ black of pride in thier heritage. Yet those who take pride in the negativeness in their culture are the extremist & racist. in the case of "whites" or Europeans its other races (but especially ppl of melanin That includes Native & Nubian) in the case of "blacks" or Nubian its programmed thru slavery to judge & hate ourselves. so to take pride in either of these aspects is where the negativity lies & there is a Deep sickness in America

  8. Jamie Foxx is without a doubt the most talented person in hollywood. Singer, dancer, comedian, rapper, impressionist and dramatic actor. He was also a pretty good high school athlete.

  9. I don't understand why ANY one would be proud of their race. I see white pride, black pride or any race based pride as equally stupid. It was not in your control. Be proud for your actions and accomplishments not the color of your skin. This seems so obvious to me. I had some modicum of respect for Jamie Fox for Django untrained though I think many actors could've played his part. Some I think could've played it better. In reality this movie wouldn't exist without Quentin Tarantino. Now he just needs to be slapped with some common sense.

  10. Its amazing when someone other than white embraces themselves, they are a racist. White folks, its not about you, its about embracing and loving who you are. Why it becomes racist is when you tell people they cant love themselves. I love Django. And Black folks dont ever forget your history. Continue to bring up Jews do it all the time. If you forget, yoy tend to repeat.

  11. Isn't the show Scandal about a woman (Kerry Washington) who an affair with the President?  I watched a small  part of one show and I was turned off.  I wish she had picked a role that portrays black women in a more positive light.

  12. The reason why hollywood has an easier time with showing the Holocaust and not american slavery is because during WWII and the Holocaust, it was and is easy for people to go 'The US is on the moral side of this horrible incident….they are they heroes trying to save the innocent'. The reality of slavery is that the US wasnt on the right of the salve debate. The constitution, something us americans like to see as a document that gives us protection and grants us 'rights'…..was on the wrong side of the slavery debate initially. Many had to fight and die to change which side America was on in regards to that issue.

…..and let's not forget how many Americans have family that died trying to defend their 'right' to own another human being as property. When those people try to have pride in their heritage, they still end up on the wrong side of the moral debate.

Think about the US government, the populous of the US at the time and the religious leaders in the US at the time when slavery was still being practiced…..really think about the horrors of slavery….then realize that it took 144 years from the day that the Emancipation Proclamation was issued until the day that we had our first half black president. That's a long, hard, painful road to walk as a nation and it's shocking how many people still try to minimize the effects slavery had on this nation with their "its been nearly 150 years…time to get over it" bullshit. Those kinds of sentiments illustrate the real reason why slavery isnt shown more in Hollywood: because race is an issue for nearly everybody….some of us are sick of hearing about it and some of us are immersed in it to the degree where its poisoned everything we do…when we watch films about slavery, those two world views clash.

Some dont want to see those horrors because they feel like they had nothing to do with it but feel like watching it on a movie is almost like a group of people accusing them of directly doing those horrific acts…..like how many Jews feel when they watch the Passion of the Christ, which had very anti-semitic undertone to it.

Others feel like the horrors on the screen are things their family and ancestors suffered through first hand and, just like how many Jews watching Schindler's List, they feel that it's important that the world never forgets what their ancestors went through.

the point is that the topic, sadly, is too close to the real issues that our nation still deals with. when we have obvious institutionalized racism being huge issue nationally….is it really a surprise that there arent movies showing honest depictions of slavery? when the topic of race is brought up….often times the US still ends up on the immoral side of the debate (largely because of the actions of its citizens). most people refuse to acknowledge this fact but it's a fact.

  13. Can I say that I believe Jamie Foxx's views on certain things are a little limited? 1. When he says he is black and proud, he is racist? That makes no sense to me. Racist means you hate other races, not that you love yourself. 2. He mentioned Obama and say "was a lot of white folk that felt like….". Well, wait Jamie. The US is not just black and white people. There are spanish, and chinese, and japanense, etc etc – and to speak on only the white and black experience is frankly a little narrow minded. Terrific actor? Sure. Nice guy? Sure. I havent met him, but hey very may well be. An expert of discussion of race? Not using this video as reference, no.

  14. k washington seems to always a black racist dirt-bag ,, ;; AND WE ARE NOT ALL THE SAME PEOPLE ,,blacks were here long before ,WE are the only original
