  1. why is the total output 54.63 and not 54.17875 which is the correct calculation output?

    the tax = $3.00375 is the 6.75% of the meal cost of $44.50 and tip = $6.675 of the meal cost of $44.50
    adding tax% + tip% = 9.67875 and a total of
    Total = (tax% + tip%) + meal cost
    = 54.17875

    So why is it 54.63?

  2. I have tried everything but it keeps glitching and saying that my meal value is 47.50375 instead of 44.50 he is my exact code

    # Assign the variable meal the value 44.50 on line 3!

    meal = 44.50
    tax = 0.0675
    tip = 0.15

    meal = meal + meal * tax
    total = meal + meal * tip

    print("%.2f" % total)

  3. Can you help me It's printing this error "Oops, try again. It looks like the printed output is 50.71 instead of 54.63. Double check the instructions!"

    this is the code im using:
    # Assign the vaiable total on line 8!

    meal = 44.50
    tax = 0.0675
    tip = 0.15

    meal = meal + meal * tax
    total = meal + meal * tax

    print("%.2f%" % total)

    please reply ASAP
